The brothers of Zeta Kappa did a fantastic job with Recruitment last Fall! With events ranging from classics like Game Night and Bowling to newbies such as Volleyball / Cookout and Blitzball, the chapter was able to close, bid, and educate a total of 3 Pledges, with a retention rate of 100%, as well as many new connections for future recruitment. The chapter is now sitting at a total of 28 active members. With that, here’s a warm welcome and shout out to the Fall Class of 2025! Welcome Brother William Lewis, Gabe Benton, and Violet Phiilips!
Philanthropic Events/Community Service
When it comes to Community Service and Philanthropic events, the Brothers of Theta Chi are always willing to lend an assisting hand! Last Fall, the Brothers of Zeta Kappa Chapter joined with the Hardin County Historical Museums and Phi Alpha Theta to host a Haunted Museum event. The Brothers dressed up in Halloween costumes to scare guests to help raise money for the Hardin County Haunted Museum! In addition to this the Brothers of Zeta Kappa Chapter hosted their annual Rock The Tundra event, but this time having Alpha Xi Delta, the American Institute of Graphic Arts, the Biology Student Association, Phi Mu Alpha to help sell plants, food, drinks, posters, and token bags. We were able to raise $1,230! This money helps support our philanthropies, the United Service Organizations and Music Will! The Zeta Kappa chapter is also proud to announce that in the Fall semester we partnered with Wreaths Across America and raised over $900 and volunteered to put wreaths on veteran’s graves. We are always happy to give back to our veterans and perform this duty to our committee.
Looking forward, keep an eye out for updates on Theta Chi’s annual “Cafe Theta Chi” charity cafe, which will be held at the Theta Chi house! Come enjoy some home cooked meals, beverages, coffee, and milkshakes! (Date and Time Coming Soon)
Living Brotherhood
The past Fall semester kept up with the Chapter focusing on strengthening their Brotherhood with events such as watching movies or shows, going on weekly trips to the Fillian Station in Kenton OH, visiting Sheetz as a group, or watching sports out in the Hut! All of these events prove that Theta Chi is built upon the Brotherhood.
Scholarship Highlights
The Zeta Kappa Chapter absolutely decimated it academically last Fall! With a term average GPA of 3.31, and a cumulative of 3.40, the Brothers are knocking it out of the park. In comparison, the ONU All Men’s Average GPA sits at 3.12, while the ONU All Greek Average GPA of 3.11. They are definitely crushing expectations and pulling those averages up. Special thanks to the many 4.0’s within the Chapter this semester!Alumni Engagement
During the Fall semester the Zeta Kappa chapter had a blast during homecoming with alumni coming out to see the homecoming football game and at the Zeta Kappa tailgate! We are preparing for the 60th Anniversary on April 10th - 12th. Be sure to get your registrations in on time to come and join!
